When the clocks go forward I actually get a little excited that warmer weather is on its way, I know I’m probably being too hopeful, but actually, at the weekend it was double figures and in the sun it was actually warm enough not to wear my coat. I know, baby steps, but I do love that there seems to be an end in sight for the end of winter, so I wanted to inject a little vitamin C into my wardrobe with the addition of some sunshine yellow pieces, and that’s when I found this beauty on Asos.
I hadn’t heard of Daisy Street before, the peeps behind my You Are My Sunshine tee, but I’m a sucker for a slogan T-shirts and fun, colourful knits at affordable prices, so expect to see a few more of their pieces over the next few months – like I’m obsessed with this stripy jumper, this adorable ‘silly sausage’ tee and OMG need this rainbow knit.
10 things I’d buy now from Daisy Street on Asos:
Don’t you think that yellow is such an underrated colour? It’s no millennial pink, statement red or even calming blue, but you know it really does work with so many colour combinations – blue, white, green, black, grey and even pink!!!
For me, I think the best way to wear yellow, especially in spring and summer has to be with denim, whether that’s a dark blue wash, a light blue, or even white, jeans, skirt or dungarees, there are so many choices, and I’m telling you, denim and yellow just seems to work so well together. Seriously, give it a go.
A bold, statement look would be to wear head-to-toe yellow, look around for a great dress and matching shoes for a spring or summer wedding, after a more subtle take on the trend, why not just add a splash of colour with your accessories, try a yellow bag, shoes or even sunglasses. For that middle ground, do like I have, add a pop of colour with your T-shirt.
One thing you can be sure though, wearing yellow will certainly cheer up any outfit, and your mood.
Are you a lover of yellow?
