Last week I attended Nine West’s AW2010 press day at Home House – a great setting for a collection all about opulence and elegance. I do love footwear previews as the styling is always so stylish and this one was no different set up as an elegant banquet with the shoes the main appetiser displayed on vintage china.
There to showcase the Victorian-inspired collection was Nine West’s Creative Director Fred Allard who is currently on his world tour, first NY, then London, with the next stop Hong Kong.
The boots as always really stood out with this collection, featuring great variety of textures from leather, suede, shearling and beading. Teamed with sophisticated fasteners – including ski clasps, buckles, zips and one of my favourite (below) books with these military inspired clasps.
There was also a sophisticated palette of colours, from rich reds, purples and greys. I know summer hasn’t even begun – but with this collection of boots I am already dreaming of autumn.
