3 Events 1 Night: Champagne, Canapes And Lily Allen

Thursday was a busy night in London, there were so many launches, parties and openings that it was hard to fit everything in, but I managed to get to three great events: Mina UK’s store opening, A. Sauvage launch at Matches and the unveiling of new grooming product KINGS at Kettners Champagne Bar.

First stop, Mina UK’s store opening on Great Titchfield Street, and what a nice shop it is. It has a vintage vibe which is perfect for all the cute dresses, but what I was surprised about was how big the store was.

It was nice to visit it especially as they had Oreo and Malteser cupcakes which was a much needed treat, I also got lots of lovely Lush products in my goodie bag. If you like vintage-style dresses then this is the place for you – I can’t wait to go back and try a few on.

From there I went to the lovely Matches to check out the new menswear line, This Is Not A Suit collection from A.Sauvage. Designed by Adrien Sauvage with TV presenter George Lamb as the muse and business partner, this range pays homage to great British tailoring.

The lovely George Lamb was in attendance looking dapper in a suit, but the highlight for me had to be seeing a fresh-faced Lily Allen. Admitted she didn’t stay long, just a quick stop and circuit, but hey she looked amazing in this cute 50s-style floral print Prada dress with fitted bodice and full skirt – teamed with super high black heels and just in shot a gorgeous Celine blue tote.

I also loved the fact that quirky badges were handed out, you could either be a ‘Captain’ or a ‘Native’, of course I had to be a ‘Native’. Then there was the amazing summery cocktail, dark rum and ginger beer – which was still on my mind the next day as a drink that I have to recreate in the garden.

Last stop and great way to end such a great evening was the launch for KINGS, the new men’s grooming collection that is coming exclusively to Boots this week. I know two menswear events in one night, but I couldn’t resist Kettner’s Champagne Bar which is such a good venue for a launch. It was a jam-packed affair, so sitting on the window ledge was the best view of the party *the jealous, wish I had thought of that was priceless*.

It was quite a mixed crowd of fashion and beauty peeps as well as models mingling with the crowd presenting the new KINGS products, and it had one of the best atmospheres I have seen at an event in a while, maybe the heat, champagne and pumpkin canapés helped – but really I think it was down to the fact that designer Henry Holland was down to DJ.

Each venue had very different music, as I was leaving Mina UK they were playing Holly Valance, Matches went for a more high-end of music taken from an iTunes playlist – but the best was by far Henry Holland’s set with Michael Jackson and Take That.
