French Connection have decided to take a peek into their archive and treat us with a capsule collection inspired by their best selling styles designed and sold in FC in 1972, the year the brand was founded. The 1972 Vintage range is a sleek collection where the FC in-house design team have translated the classic 70’s designs for Autumn 2010.
My favourite item of the collection has to be the Vintage Dolly Dress (3rd image); I love the boat neck, the floaty cap sleeves and the full skirt – completely on trend for AW10. It is only £60 and I think worth every penny.
The other items in the line includes the Vintage Grace Lace Shirt (middle image) with its large scallop-edged collar, gathered panel at bust and lace trim fluted cuffs for £45; and the Vintage Marzipan Cotton Dress (1st image) with its square neckline, frilled hem and thick shoulder straps for £35.
I love it when high-street stores do capsule collections – and this is one of the best I have seen.
