Fashion label Vena Cava’s design duo Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai presented their spring/summer 2011 offerings on the opening day of New York Fashion Week inspired by the 1980s Italian design movement, Memphis.
The Memphis movement best known for its bold colours and geometric shapes, was seen throughout this collection, with its colour blocking with primary colours, geometric patterns and angles of the hem lines.
I loved this show for its simplicity and how many wearable pieces this collection has with its a-line skirts, halter dresses, blazers, high-waisted trousers, two-piece sets, culottes and the rope belts.
