Normally I don’t feature beauty, mainly because I may be girlie with my pink and Barbies, but not so much when it comes to make-up and beauty products. But one thing I love are perfume bottles, the quirkier the better. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter what it smells like, a good bottle wins over!!
Normally, celebrity scents aren’t really my thing, they come in boring, plan bottles, normally called after themselves and sell just becuase of their status. There are some exceptions to this; I have a soft spot for Britney Spear’s scents, and this has to be with Curious coming complete with a perfume vaporizer with a tassle, yep I am a sucker for the details and come on who doesn’t love Gwen Stefani’s Harujuku Lovers fragrances, complete with doll-shaped bottles. But now I’m adding Katy Perry’s to this list as I LOVE this kitty-cat shaped bottle.
“Purr is a natural extension of who I am as a woman – it’s a gorgeous blend of all my favourite scents and embodies my style, my tastes and my love for all things incredibly cute. It is an absolutely purrfect perfume that I hope leaves you meowing with delight!” Katy Perry
I love the name, Purr, inspired by her love of her own cat Kitty Purry, and the bottle is a perfect representation of her playful and sometimes mental personality. There is normally a question mark over how much involvement the celebrity actually has but apparently designers took the bottle design from a hand drawn sketch that Katy did herself. I love the lavender colouring and the jewelled eyes – purrfect.
Katy is coming to the UK next week to promote her debut scent, and then it will be available exclusively from Selfridges for one week ahead of its national roll out from Saturday, November 20. I can’t wait even the pricey starting price of £37.50 for 50ml and £51 for 100ml eau de parfum spray can’t put me off.
What do you think of the bottle? Sold??
