At the end of 2010, I fell in love with the retro vibe of jewellery label Maggie Angus, with its acrylic shaped charms and quirky vibe. Well for its spring/summer 2011 be prepared to be get down with Will Smith and chant ‘welcome to Miami’!!
Viva Del Mar aka Life of the Sea, is a gorgeous collection influenced by the summertime vibe of Miami *sorry can’t seem to help myself in adding Will Smith tunes*, Studio 54’s disco cool, and the energetic life beneath the waves – and what a gorgeous combination that all is.
I loved the last collection with its vintage clothing, bags and accessories, but these gold-mirrored and black shiny acrylic charms of palm leaves and trees, coral, fishes, sail boats, starfishes and seagulls, really do cheer me up. The collection kind of has a seventies feel about it, which I would just love to wear with a maxi dress, a big floppy hat and super-high wedges.
My favourite pieces were of course the charm bracelets, and this great coral and fish drop chain necklace, surely the perfect addition to any day outfit.
For the evening it is all about these disco rings: Palm Tree (£15) and Golden Shell (£17), to add a sparkle of glamour to any outfit, and team them with these fierce Coral branch earrings, £16 and you’ve got a hot look!
To be honest I love everything about this collection, and the label as a whole, it is seriously stylish and super reasonable, with prices starting at just £14. Pick out your favourite pieces now online at Maggie Angus.
