Last week I went to Goodley PR’s press day, and I came across the amazing London-based milliner Victoria Grant and her Vegas collection for autumn/winter 2011. I do love hats, I have to admit I don’t really suit them, but I was mesmerized by this stunning eccentric collection of statement headpieces.
Inspired by the glamour and theatre of old Vegas, this collection plays on the elegance of the original showgirls, and explores the creation of lights as wearable art. Each piece whether it is the circus top hat or a motel scene, or the added touches of lips and hearts, the hats really do embody the spirit of the city that never sleeps.
With the royal wedding creating a bit of a frenzy at the moment I wonder if any of the guests have commissioned Victoria Grant to create them a statement hat? I have heard that she has done pieces before for Mother’s of the bride – I think Kate’s mum would look amazing in one of these creations!!
