Like with Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge presented its most colourful autumn/winter collection to date, with reds, greens, mustards and blues all showcased. Rather than the primary colour palette of DP it felt like Miss Selfridge had gone for a grown-up approach to colour, but still featuring head-to-toe colour.
The ladylike collection has taken its inspiration from 30s, 40s, 50s, and 70s, utilising colour, minimalist tailoring and flashes of feminine touches with bows and split sleeves. My favourite pieces were the elements inspired by 1950’s screen sirens with there Hollywood glamour, and the gorgeous 1930’s cocktail dresses for a vintage vibe, and I adore all the Art Deco detailing.
One thing I wasn’t sure off were the turbans, admittedly they looked amazing styled at the press day, and will be amazing in editorial spreads but I couldn’t see myself wearing it come autumn.
