Wearing: A red strapless leather Gucci dress from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, teamed with a floral shrug, which was made from hand cut, hand painted silk petals, and finished off with a purple skinny belt
Verdict: I am glad that it is the start of Cannes as it is one of my favourite red carpet events, but after seeing this outfit from Salma I am hoping that the fashion improves. It isn’t a surprise that she went for Gucci, it does seem to be her go-to label as she wore it to last year’s festival as well, but this dramatic dress doesn’t really do it for me.
I kind of like the shrug, quite similar to one that Jennifer Lopez wore to the Met Gala, but I just not sure it works. Am I being a little harsh?
Thank god that Penelope Cruz and Angelina Jolie are expected to raise the fashion stakes!!
