I found this video clip of Lauren Conrad chatting about her first fashion must-have piece, still can’t believe it was neon cycling shorts, and it got me wondering what mine was.
I can remember that I always wanted to customise things, whether it was adding on the many rock band badges that I have picked up at concerts and Affleck’s Palace on my denim jacket, or whether it was tie-dying my favourite leggings *I am a child of the 80’s*, or transforming a photo onto a plain white t-shirt.
I have a lot of fashion memories, but I think for me my first has to be regarding my mum’s fashion, I remember her leather jacket, her doc martins, and her many stacked bracelets that jingle as she walked.
Also when I think of my first fashion memory I think back to that first item I had to beg my mum to buy me, it was a pair of platform heels to wear to school, I remember the boys used to call them beetle crushers. The first day I wore them to school I felt so cool, as well as sense of belonging as nearly ever girl in my year had them. It seems silly now, but I loved those shoes!!
