What if QVC sold Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Gucci? I can take a guess and say we’d all tune in a lot more. Well the amazing Vogue Italia have merged high fashion and home shopping together for their January issue and launched their own shopping channel, IVC, well a spoof of what it would be like to see the spring/summer 2012 collections sold via the power of TV!!!
I do love a spoof, and I love how Vogue Italia always do something very creative, completely off-beat and sometimes controversial for their runway issue. I think that is because Steven Meisel is a genius at capturing gorgeous photographs and bringing much needed humour into fashion, and I am so glad that Vogue Italia think the same way.
I love this latest collaboration between the two, everything from the perma-grins to the faux-presenters, it just works. I wonder if they were inspired by Henry Holland’s informercial starring himself and Pixie Geldof showcasing his autumn/winter 2011 collection??
Either way I adore it, oh and don’t forget “All prices, telephone numbers are invented and have no reference to reality,” as Vogue Italia puts it on its website, “It is only a game”.
