LFW Fashion Fringe: Nabil Nayal – Opulent Beauty

Last season I was impressed by all the Fashion Fringe finalists, of course the eventual winner’s Fyodor Golan, but I loved all the glamour and opulence of Nabil Nayal’s couture gowns.

Continuing on from his spring/summer 2012 collection, the pieces were exquisitely tailored in luxurious fabrics, with my favourite gown being this ethereal number with ruched detailing, a chiffon pleated skirt, and the most intricately stitched angel wing design on the bodice. Simply stunning, everything from the dove grey colour to the movement of the dress – I think the model thought I was a little crazy asking her to move the skirt about – but it really did make the gown shine.

Nabil is most certainly a talent for the future, and I hope that his designs attract the attention of a major fashion stylist as I think they would look divine on a young starlet on a film premiere or awards ceremony red carpet. Just think what flash bulbs would do to that exquisite leather stitching – it would look incredible!!!

The presentation was also in the most perfect location in the Corinthia Hotel’s penthouse suite – I loved the crystal chandeliers, the grand piano, and the gorgeous view – oh and I quite enjoy getting mixed up in the scrum outside who were waiting for Rihanna as she was staying in the hotel over fashion week.
