As you know I collect Barbie dolls, I reiterate this as I met someone the other day who just thought my blog was called Fashionista Barbie as I was blonde, which I am not, and that my name was Barbie, which it isn’t.
I have around 60 dolls, possible more it just all depends whether my boyfriend is reading this. I generally go for the fashion related dolls, the designer collaborations, a hint of pop culture, movie-inspired Barbie’s as well as Hard Rock Cafe dolls to sit next to my bear collection. There are exceptions – like I have to get the Christmas Barbie every year, I love a doll in a wedding dress and it seems if you add some Mickey Mouse ears I am sold, and there are just the ones that are too cute not to have.
I was asked recently to share more of my collection, and I will, I am photographing a few of favourites at the moment to share, but until they are ready I thought I would share the latest doll designed by Robert Best – Ball Gown Barbie – mainly because she is high up on my current wishlist!!!
There is always something special about a Robert Best Barbie doll and this is a beauty – I love the retro feel of her from her face to her hair, seriously glamorous, which works perfectly with her gorgeous off-the-shoulder ball gown. What caught my attention the most with this doll are the details from the bow belting her tiny waist to the opera length gloves, the dazzling rhinestone brooch and her statement eye make-up – she is exquisite.
Price at $100 she is a little pricey, I have only paid that for Grace Kelly, Christian Louboutin and Vera Wang – but I think she would make a great addition to my collection.
Are you a fan of Ball Gown Barbie?
