Do you remember when you were a teenager and you obsessed over clothes? OK, I might still do that, but the spring of 1994, my go-to piece of clothing was a denim pinafore dress, and on day two of London Fashion Week I kind of revived my teenage look, slightly, accidentally on purpose. I would love to say that this is the same dress that I wore when I was 14, please don’t calculate how old I am, oh how I would love to say that, but actually I think this gorgeous Fatface beauty is actually much better and is it wrong that I might be putting this outfit on repeat as soon as the weather gets a little warmer?

Back in the day, I wore my denim pinafore dress with stripy long-sleeve tops, baggy cardigans, band T-shirts with the overall straps hung down the back, and even over slouchy jeans, yep I thought I was cool. My favourite look was wearing it over tops with shoulder cut-outs, which just so happens to be a trend at the moment as well, and I was all set and then I remembered it was February, it was cold and wintery and was worried that I might get hypothermia, so I opted instead to team it with the brightest raincoat I could find, and I don’t think you get one brighter than this fluoro orange one from Joules. This shorter boxy style jacket really works with this denim dress and the colour couldn’t be any more 90s if I tried!!!

My teenage years were also about personalisation, whether it was sewn on denim patches, masses of badges, or even fabric pens I couldn’t leave the house without making a look my own. In the 90s, it was all about badges, to make this look current and suitable for fashion week I went for these incredible cute Biography pins from Astley Clarke, which I just adore. I lent these beauties from The Apartment, you know the place that shelters us bloggers during fashion week, and I couldn’t resist wearing my initials and adding a butterfly, kind of an ode to my teenage years.

The 90s was also a big time for friendship bracelets, back then however my friends and I wore fabric ones we made ourselves, I’ve grown out of that and moved onto Astley Clarke, can you blame me when they look this beautiful? I have a whole stack of Astley Clarke in my jewellery box they are always such great quality and I’m so pleased that they’ve introduced the Kula, that’s easy to get on with its adjustable strap, and I adore my Amazonite Wishbone beauty, which symbolises hope as well as being very pretty.

I don’t know why but I’m loving how fun this look is, kind of perfect for fashion week, while also keeping true to my own style of being comfortable, and this is a great on-trend piece as well as being a great alternative to wearing jeans. I also love styling it with grey knitted tights and my Sophie Hulme crossbody bag, I love pairing grey with denim and it works with the fluoro orange as well. For added measure, while also hoping for sunshine, I wore with my new Lensway sunglasses, I’m obsessed with everything minty green, you might have guessed by my blog colours and I’ve finally found the perfect shade for my frames.

How would you style up this Fatface denim pinafore dress?
