There’s something so special about Paris, well there is to me, yeah it’s the city of lights, one of the most romantic places in the world, for me, it’s a source of inspiration that every so often I needed a much-needed boost of. I always find returning to the French capital always inspires and boosts my confidence, I don’t know what it is, maybe the incredibly fashionable Parisians that I love to admire, maybe it’s the fact that it’s is acceptable to waste an afternoon just sitting and watching the world go by from one of the cities many gardens, maybe it’s the surroundings, the architecture is just divine, or maybe it’s the fact I get to gush over Monet, or maybe it comes down to the fact I just seem so much more relaxed and less self-conscious than I am in London.
There are many places that I love, New York obviously, it will always be a very special place for my husband and I, it was my perfect fairytale wedding, without the castle, then there’s Manchester, it will always be home, and then there is Paris, my spiritual home that I so wish I could pack up everything here and live, if only it was possibly and I could speak French. In my heart my Parisian journey isn’t just one of visiting, I know that I will live there, maybe I just need to wait a few years until it is possible. But, until then I will just have to be content with visiting, hopefully, more regularly than I have done recently, I think I need a boost at least every couple of months. Whereas New York is a little further away, I don’t really have many excuses with Paris, it really is just a couple of hours away on the train.
Back to this look, which FYI I’m in love with, not only are the Jardin Des Tuileries a beautiful setting, I love just sitting by the fountains reading a book, sipping hot chocolate from Angelina’s and munching on a pain au chocolate, seriously heavenly just doing much of nothing. This look is a bargain, would you believe me if I said that this Boohoo midi dress was £20? You should, as it was, and the quality is superb. Sadly, it has sold out twice now, hardly surprising, as this beauty with its paisley print and crochet inserts is just so pretty. I’m obsessed with the long sleeves, the knee-skimming length, as well as the blue, black and cream colour.
Just putting this Boohoo dress on filled me with a new found confidence, add in the Paris backdrop and this has to be one of my favourite shoots I did in the city. Twirling in the Palais Garnier was pretty special, and I have a great style post to come from Palais Royal, but this boohoo dress and the fact it was only £20 make it even more perfect.
