I find it a constant mission trying to master the art of layering, sometimes it works, like here, **I hope**, and other’s have failed miserably, but I’m so happy that this maxi dress over jeans worked as I loved wearing this to London Fashion Week. Day 2 was a little colder so this look was perfect, it is a great autumnal style, you get to wear that gorgeous maxi shirt dress you’ve loved wearing over the summer a little longer by just adding a pair of jeans or if you’re feeling brave why not go for leather leggings.
There’s something so bohemian about adding a flowing maxi dress over jeans, especially super skinny ones. It’s fun to reinvent a maxi dress for the colder months, yeah I know you could add tights and knee-high boots, but I like how edgy the ripped jeans make the look, especially when styled with these Lacoste hi-tops, which are the perfect nude hue. To add to my 90s vibes, I went for some era appropriate braids that I got done at the W London fashion week braid bar, how I wish I could do these myself, I love plaits.
It took me a while to decide on just the right maxi dress to wear, it has to be flowy and either a wrap style or a shirt dress, as you want to show off your legs. With this Girls on Film shirt dress, which FYI was a bargain from Asos under £20, all you have to do is unbutton it to your waist. It was, however, a little big so I nipped it in at the waist with a belt, and I decided to opt for a lighter wash denim to match with the floral print. 
The finishing touches to this look had to be this incredible Zara bag, which I basically just bought because I adored the strap, the pink with the embellishments, seriously dreamy. It also comes with a second one if you get bored with it that’s just black. But come on, why would you ever get bored of it? I think I’ll be pairing it with other bags that I have as well. Zara are really killing it lately on the accessories front, I haven’t bought a bag from them in years and this is the second in two consecutive style posts. The bag itself is also a great size, works so well with jeans and really complements this look.
