Inspiration for this slick collection came from Juliette Recamier, a woman who stood up to Napoleon, and you could definitely feel the French Revolution in the styling as well as the clothes.
There were sharp tailored coats, like the one above – love the corners pinned up, silk flowing evening gowns, mohair knit, velvet biker jackets, gorgeous high necks, military jackets and skinny trousers.
I loved the vintage inspired touches to the collection, it definatley had the 19th century influences but for me it was very much still in the now – with the gorgeous floaty silk-printed flat cut away halter dress teamed with a black velvet jacket, that finished the show.
There was a flow to this show which came through from the punk rock music setting the tone, to the models hair scraped back in a centre parting – looking like all their hair had been sprayed black, and the smokey grey eyes and a burgundy nail varnish. It is all these elements combined with the clothes that made a great show.
