Admit it everyone has a Juicy Couture tracksuit, once upon a time it used to be cool and then the WAGs came along and destroyed the velour tracksuit. Well the brand is hoping that they are going to become cool again with the appointment of a new creative consultant and guest designer, the hip designer Erin Fetherston.
It is kind of a surprise Erin’s style is more feminine and pretty rather than sporty – but I am interested to see what she comes up with. She joins the label in May to create exclusive pieces for its Holiday 2011 collection, with a few debuting in 2010. But the main project will be for Erin to re-imagine the brand’s iconic tracksuit, as next year it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
“This is an incredible opportunity,” said Fetherston. “It’s very impressive that Juicy Couture has become a global brand in such a short period of time. I’ve always related to the fun-loving and modern spirit of the brand and its distinct design point of view. I’m very honored and excited to step into this role.”
Don’t worry Erin fans she will still continue to work on her own collections.
Not sure how I feel about this? But interested to see what the 10th anniversary tracksuit is going to look like.
