So this year it seems both New York and London are celebrating Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out on the same night, September 8, but it is only New Yorkers that get the chance to take part in Barbie’s social scavenger hunt *jealous*.
Barbie is gathering her dolls for a fun night of shopping and is putting on a free double-decker bus to chauffeur shoppers around Manhattan. The bus is stopping at Barbie’s favourite stores including Alice + Olivia, Alexis Bittar, Tracy Reese and Rogan, where shoppers can take part in a scavenger hunt.
Full details have yet to be revealed including where the bus stops are going to be, but Barbie has gone all geeky and each store will display ‘a custom-branded QR code that, when scanned, will direct participants to barbielovesfno.com, where they can enter for a chance to win favorite fall looks’. Technical right? But basically if you have the right app you could win prizes.
Is it just me who is wondering whether they are going to sell Barbie sized FNO t-shirts?
Barbie aside it looks like London is planning a host of events as well, with a full list of events being displayed on London’s FNO website here. I am liking the sound of Mulberry hosting face painting and fortune-telling at their stores on Bond Street and Brompton Road, Dior converting a black cab into a studio so you can pose for their photographer, and my favourite is Rupert Sanderson is hosting a 70s roller disco at his shop on Bruton Place – yes please!!
