SS12 Campaign: Prada Makes A Gas Station Look Chic

I know we haven’t even got through the brunt of autumn/winter yet but the spring/summer 2012 campaigns are already hitting the Internet and the first to catch my eye had to be this Prada 1950’s inspired shoot snapped by Steven Meisel.

Miuccia Prada is known for her bright colours and retro prints, both feature quite heavily in this campaign and I love it, especially against the bright blue backdrop!!

I think anyone other than Miuccia would find it hard making a gas station look fashionable but by adding Natasha Poly, Meghan Collison, Elise Crombez, Ymre Stiekema, and Katryn Kruger into the mix this is one sexy campaign. I don’t know why but as soon as I saw these images my mind went back to that amazing vintage-inspired shoot that Vogue Hombre Mexico did – maybe it is because it had Prada styling.

But what I do love about this campaign other than the amazing hot rod cars, has to be the low angle the campaign is shot in, it really does showcase the amazing collection and styling in the best possible light – flirty, sexy, ladylike and very colourful. The accessories really do stand out for me, I have already added that yellow tote to my 2012 wish list!!!
