There isn’t much I enjoy about January, except the fact that it is officially the best month for living in your slippers! After lockdowns and work from home orders, my wardrobe has been a little lonely. I can’t tell you how much I miss handbags, shoes and boots – they don’t get a look in at the moment, so I’ve decided that I’m going to start rotating my slippers to mix up my looks.
A curated comfortable shoe wardrobe is a must-have for any woman, and January is the perfect time to add a little style to your loungewear, PJs and activewear! Plus, if reviving your style isn’t enough of a reason, trust me your feet will welcome being warm, as shuffling around the house in socks just won’t cut it anymore.
First up, what kind of slipper wear are you? Do you prefer classic sheepskin and fluffy? Those comfortable knitted styles or ones with a little embellishment on? A pair of stylish moccasins or waffle slippers that remind you of being at the spa? Or do you want slippers with practical rubber soles?
Then are you partial to an open toe-style slipper that you can wear with chunky socks, slip-on mules, or how about a little bootie? Seriously, slippers have really upped their game in recent years.
5 Slippers To Add To Your Wardrobe

Emu Australia – Mayberry Rainbow
I love Emu Australia slippers, I have about three different pairs, and my favourite right now has to be these uplifting and super comfortable sheepskin Mayberry Rainbow slippers. Not only are these beauties so pretty, but I also adore the rainbow-inspired stripes. I love how they hug my feet and keep them warm. The best bit, they are under £60.
Not a fan of the rainbow colour palette, don’t worry, the Emu Australia Mayberry also come in natural, pink, black, grey and navy – but doesn’t January deserve a mood boost with bright colours?
Love Emu Australia but not this style, check out the Monch, a stylish and comfortable mule slipper and the Jolie, natural suede slip-on slippers lined with 100% Australian sheepskin for a cosy and comfortable fit – I just love the exposed sheepskin cuff and how warm they make my feet.

Toms – Susie Slipper
I’ve always been a fan of faux fur slippers, I love the fluffy feeling, and Toms Susie with padded crossover straps are fun and cosy. Wear with chunky socks so full-on toasty, or without – your feet will thank you either way.
Coming in at under £50, these faux fur Toms are amazing, and they come in a number of colours and patterns, love animal print you need to check out the pink leopard print style.

Birkenstock – Zermatt
I’ve had my eye on a pair of Birkenstock clogs for the house for a while, and their winter-ready shearling-lined Zermatt looks like the perfect clog to keep your feet cosy when the temperatures drop. What makes this wool felt slipper stand out is the fact it has a removable footbed, allowing you to choose between three different insoles – standard, soft and shearling – to make it the perfect all-year-round slipper.
They are a little more pricey at £90, but the Birkenstock Zermatt is versatile, comfortable and will last you a long time.
Laines London – Embellished Slippers
Want a little sparkle on your house shoes? Well, Laines London has you covered with an entire range of slippers featuring bespoke handmade brooches delicately embroidered with sequins, pearls, and beads. Choose from fluffy faux fur slippers to on-trend teddy towelling sliders, and then your bling to add a little glitz and glamour to your loungewear.
The best bit, other than the price, most styles come in at under £50, and you can detach the brooches and wear them on any items of clothing or your favourite accessories. Plus there are so many embellishments to choose from, whether you like animals, crowns, food, birds, icons, rainbows, bugs, celebration, or hearts.
Three of my favourites: Teddy Towelling Slipper with Deluxe Artisan Leopard – the emerald green colour is stunning // Classic Laines Slippers with Deluxe Rainbow LOVE Heart Brooch // and how fun is the snack – I need these Classic Laines Slippers with Double Deluxe Pizza & Fries Brooches //

Everlane – ReNew Slipper
Like a duvet for your feet, Everlane’s ReNew Slippers are cosy and sustainable. The slip-on design features a cosy quilted upper, a soft plush lining, and a durable sole all made entirely from 100% recycled materials. So your feet stay warm and you are doing your bit for the environment. For me, these are a classic design with a modern touch with the quilted upper.
