I have friends in the military, I went to University in a naval town, and I now live in a village between an army and an air-force base – so every time I see a war memorial it always makes me think about those brave souls who weren’t lucky enough to make it home.
Today, while we were on a mini adventure near where we live we came across this gorgeous tribute to the 355th Fighter Group, which was made up of various American squadrons, who flew out of the Steeple Morden fighter base during World War 2.
I have seen many war memorials but this one stood out so much that it made me turn the car around to get a closer look and I am glad I did as it is a fitting tribute to a fighter group whose motto was ‘Our Might Always’.
