There have been a lot of rumours flying about the Barbie community for a few months that the Kardashian sisters were to be immortalised into Barbie dolls this year. I have to admit even though I am fascinated with the reality family, I have featured them a number of times on my blog, I have to be honest I think that I would like to see other celebrity dolls ahead of them.
Let’s make one thing clear, even though US Weekly have claimed this week that the sisters are to be Barbie’s pals and will feature in a limited-edition line, there has not been any official word from Mattel – apparently they don’t comment on product rumours.
But Kim is no stranger to saying she loves Barbie, just a couple of months back I posted a magazine spread that Kim did for an Aussie magazine a few years ago where she posed like a doll and even had a Ken side-kick. Also over the festive holidays, Kim exchanged a number of tweets with Barbie herself; including wishing her a Merry Christmas and saying she hadn’t seen her ages. I think this has just fuelled the rumour.
One thing is for sure, I am certain that a Kardashian Barbie line will be a sell-out, but when I asked on Twitter what people thought their dolls would wear I got more comments saying that they couldn’t believe they could become dolls before other celebs. But saying that I have to admit I am intrigued to see whether Mattel does the Kardashian curves justice, and I am sure that some kind of Herve Leger body-con dress will feature!!!
Kim tweeted this picture of fake tattoos, which she tagged #DashDolls that they sell via their boutique, and it is rumoured that the line of Barbie’s will carry the same name.
I have to be honest, I want to say I’m not interested, but you know it all depends on how they are styled, and if they have curves like the girls themselves – then I am in!!!
