I am no beauty queen, I am actually useless to be fair when it comes to anything make-up, I really am a foundation, concealer, mascara kind of doll, which is probably why seeing that the gorgeous Face Lace that I adored at the Corrie Nielsen London Fashion Week show is launching soon to the public made me kinda of excited.
There are 15 intricate re-usable neo-Gothic, floral, and Baroque patterns in eyelaces, masks, and Mendhi-inspired doodle patterns, designed by make-up artist Phyllis Cohen, who has worked with the likes of David Bowie and Daphne Guinness as well as Corrie, which will transform your look in an instant.
Not quite the bespoke Face Lace mask designs seen at Corrie’s show but as close as you are going to get, and for someone like me who isn’t great at adding false lashes, or doing anything artistic with an eye liner these are perfect for making a statement. I have to admit I am intrigued to try this ‘peel and press’ approach to see if it is as easy as it looks, but I do love the idea that the hypo-allergenic adhesive backing means that they apply in less than a minute, plus they don’t smudge or fade – sounds great.
Now I just need to find a reason to get creative, I love the French lace, ironwork and calligraphic influences in the designs, and as well as them making a statement I really do feel that there is a gracefulness about the designs and they really do show of the eyes perfectly. Oh, and I nearly forgot the price of these beauties isn’t going to break the bank, they range from £13.95 to £19.95 – roll on March 31 when the online shop launches – I want them all.
