Jewellery Loving: Lucy Folk’s Quirky Arm Candy

I love layering on bracelets to create the perfect arm party, whether it’s stacks of bangles, delicate Astley Clarke bracelets, or colourful friendship bracelets that remind me of the days I spent hours making them with my friends when I was younger.

I was recently introduced to the quirky designs of Australian jewellery designer Lucy Folk, who is known for her fun, culinary-influenced themed pieces that have caught the attention of a number of stylish fashion editors and celebrities.

Since launching her label in 2007, the Melbourne-based designer has created collections inspired by pizza, pasta, spices, and tropical fruit – it seems that all the best meals are worthy of wearing around the neck or wrist.

Her designs have included mushroom earrings, dough rings, an incredible pizza collar, metallic crocheted pineapples, watermelon bracelets complete with pips, and lime sliced cocktail necklaces – all of them look good enough to eat and just checking them out her website made me hungry!

While at a lunch recently at Rainbowwave’s showroom, I checked out her latest collection and fell in love with her unusual and colourful ‘wearable food’ designs, especially the gorgeous taco-adorned friendship bracelets and the stackable multicoloured crochet bracelets.

Seriously what’s not to love – combining fashion with food – that’s like two of my favourite things!!!

Would you wear a taco-adorned friendship bracelet?
