For autumn/winter 2015, Lulu Guinness the original quirky accessories brand has a more sophisticated, pared-back feel to the collection. There is still signature Lulu in the collection including her lip clasps, red and black dominated colour palette, as well as glitter overload, but this season the designer has been more restraint with her designs.

It’s interesting while other brands including Anya HindmarchCharlotte Olympia and Kate Spade are riding high off quirky, fun, and statement fashion, Lulu Guinness has decided to take a step back and look more at silhouettes, fabrics – there’s everything from grainy leather to vinyl, satin and even velvet petal appliqué, as well as the introduction of prints into the collection, and the paint splatter monochrome print is a serious highlight from a fab AW15 collection.

Lulu fans don’t worry even without the quirky this is still a gorgeous collection, there are many standout pieces, first up has to be the updated Mini Izzy, I love mine, and I think the red and black versions are perfection, and I love how the silver lips clasp from mine has been updated with a raised lip, it is simply, while still making a statement, which is basically what this AW15 collection is all about. AW15-Lulu-Guinness-29

There are still some quirky moments, one of Lulu’s famous slogans, ‘A Little Lipstick Never Hurts’ can be seen throughout, embossed on cute leather and glitter pouches, they basically make a great gift as well as a fun clutch for a night out with the girls.

There is also a new face, the ‘Tape Face’, which kind of makes me think of emoticons, I really love the eyelashes and the red lip pout. My favourite ‘Tape Face’ has to be the backpack, how school girl chic is that!!!

What I’m most excited about are the new styles, especially the ‘Flat Frame Purse’, this is seriously adorable and even though it is tiny it packs a punch housing somewhere for your loose change as well as notes and cards. I think I want it in every colour, but the ‘Floor Print’ paint splatter makes a Lulu statement.

The other style I loved is the ‘Ellie’, which reminds me of the cigarette pouch that my great Nanna use to have, of course, it wasn’t glittery, but the size and shape are nearly identical – and I love that it has been updated as a gorgeous party look. I really love the sleek gold hardware and cross body chain, I think this will be fun to wear at festivals, parties, as well as just to keep my sunglasses safe. I really do have a thing for small and cute.
