This weekend I’m off to the Chelsea Flower Show, I’m not going to lie I’m a little excited, it’s my first time and I can’t wait to see all the gorgeous flowers, which will, in turn, will hopefully inspire me to create a floral masterpiece in my own garden. So flowers have been on mind all week, helped along by the fact that last night I did a flower arranging class, more to come on that next week, so I thought I would share with you some snaps of the gorgeous arrangements some of the retailers have done around Sloane Square for this year’s ‘Chelsea in Bloom’ competition. 
For the past 10 years, retailers around Chelsea have been embracing the floral event with a little floral competition of their own, which basically means that the Chelsea streets are filled with flowers and this year’s theme is ‘Fairy Tales’, so there is everything from Alice in Wonderland to Cinderella and the Secret Garden, as well as a couple of giant flamingos on display.
I haven’t been round them all, there are more than 30 stores taking part, but here are a few highlights I spotted that if you like flowers and street art you are probably going to want to see.
Flamingos at Kate Spade
How cool is this, flower flamingos, no wonder they won the Innovation Award this is so creative, over the top, and so very, very Kate Spade – I just adore that they tied in the flamingo in Alice in Wonderland back to their own collection, as the graceful pink bird is all over their spring/summer 2015 pieces and I want it all!!!
Created by florists Wild at Heart, this is a stunning display that instantly cheers you up, and who would have thought that varying colours of pink carnations could be made into a flamingo. I simply love this creation.
Cinderella at Browns
One of the most elaborate displays has to go to Browns for their Cinderella masterpiece, I’m in love with her opulent ballgown, carriage, and even her flower shoe. There is so much to see here, from the beautiful magical butterflies framing the shop to the gold carriage, the guys at By Appointment Only Design really have done an amazing job.
Alice in Wonderland at Brunello Cucinelli
Right next door to Browns is Brunello Cucinelli who was inspired by the eccentric world of Alice in Wonderland. I sense a mini rivalry going on here and I love it as both displays side-by-side have such an impact. There is a floral rabbit, Cheshire Cat and even the tea party is made of flowers. Seriously cute.
Magical Smythson Garden
One of the prettiest and flower-packed displays had to Smythsons magical garden, with butterflies made of flowers. If I could recreate any display in my garden it would be this one, I love the colours, the pinks and blues go so well together, as well as all the gorgeous succulents dotted around. Others might have gone heavy on a theme but I like that Smythsons let the flowers do the talking, for me this displays really makes you stop and take notice when you walk by.
Other highlights include the Secret Garden at Liz Earle, complete with a selfie bench, even the dogs standing guard at Hackett have had a floral makeover, and Sloane Square itself has been transformed into a Fairy Tale Forest, which also acts as a pop-up cafe and an information point, you can pick up a map and guide to the stores taking part in this year’s Chelsea in Bloom.
