How many versatile pieces do you have in your wardrobe? I seem to be collecting them as I’m obsessed with making the most out of every piece I add, and I have found that a pinafore dress is a great addition for every season. I actually styled this pinafore dress, which can I add is a bargain, just £16, for George at Asda’s fashion and lifestyle blog along with four other fashion bloggers – so make sure you check out the piece. I’m loving the cute reindeer shirt that Debs from Bang on Style is wearing.
This beauty of a dress comes in two colours, tan, which you can see me wearing, and black. Two classic colours, which makes it a great piece to style in so many different ways. For me, I went for the tan for the seventies feel, and I felt that the black option was too safe, and this neutral colour is just as versatile. Tan works styled with black, like I’ve done, as well as with stripes, or even an earthy colour palette for an authentic seventies vibe. Seriously so many options with this pinafore dress.
I’m a big fan of layering and a pinafore dress is perfect for that and I decided to team this sleeveless faux suede dress with a long-sleeve black top for added warmth, and then a black embellished collar for added sparkle, I just wanted a way to give the look a more dressed up feel. Normally I would team a dress like this with ankle boots, especially in the winter – I have a pair of suede fringe beauties that would have looked amazing, but I decided to shake it up a little and went for these cute patent fringed loafers. I’m glad I did as they are super comfortable. The finishing touch is a fun one, this adorable fox crossbody bag, not only is it so cute, but it is also the perfect colour and it is only £10 – totally brings together the whole look.
I’ve worn this George at Asda pinafore dress a number of times since I shot this look, I just love that it is a great throw-on and go look, I’ve styled it with a polo neck underneath when it was cold, I’ve paired it with knee-high boots, and I’ve even worn it as a skirt with an oversized knitted jumper. There really are just so many options.
Have you discovered how versatile the pinafore dress is?
