Glasses Don’t Have To Be Boring

Glasses Don’t Have To Be Boring

Are you a glasses wearer? Well, I’ve discovered a fun new collection of glasses that will leave you smiling, as Cosmopolitan, you know the magazine, has launched some cool specs that are fun, edgy and fashionable, and more importantly come in pink!!! OK, they didn’t have to come in pink for me to like them, it helped of course, as when you wear glasses every day it is nice to mix it up and these were a perfect addition to my growing collection of cool frames. Oh, and I nearly forgot they are called Danni, so they were like, so totally made for me!

When I first started wearing glasses I remember being so self-conscious, you see my first pair were thin in shape, I thought that would make them invisible, yet they had super thick arms that had some crazy floral pattern on, I suppose that was to make them feminine looking, it didn’t. I really wish I still had them so I could show you, and sadly I’m way too embarrassed to publish a picture of me wearing them, back then I used to remove my glasses for photographs. I hated wearing them so much that I generally didn’t, wow, how things have changed. Cosmopolitan,Cosmopolitan glasses, glasses, girl in glasses, fashionista barbie, specs, hat, zara, concept eyewear, eyewear

Now I have so many great pairs, from the comfortable work pair with a tortoiseshell finish, I have smart black ones, which I call my secretary specs, then I have vibrant red ones, funky bright blue, and the one thing they all have in common is that they are generally all bold, larger vintage style frames. They are my go-to style, and these Danni Cosmo glasses are the perfect addition.

I think that’s important when you wear glasses to find a style that works for you and get as many colours and finishes as possible, I treat them as a fashion accessory – more like a piece of jewellery than a necessity for me to see into the distance! People are alway amazed when I say I have more than 10 pairs of glasses, I always ask them “well how many shoes do you own?”, and they always respond, “well that’s different”, is it? I don’t think so.

Back to these fashionable frames, I really love the bold colour, the pink is so vibrant without being cheap looking, they are proper Barbie pink, which is so perfect for me. I’m not saying that I will wear these glasses daily, but when the outfit works, like this monochrome look then I totally think they work perfectly. I love adding a pop of colour to my mainly black looks, I usually do it with my handbag but why not my specs, I think they work really well with the hat as well.

As well as these cute pink frames, the rest of the Cosmopolitan glasses collection is just as cool, they have some gorgeous green marble ones and the ox-blood red are divine, plus there are a couple of glitzy pairs perfect for nights out. Basically, there are 15 styles so something for everyone, from sophisticated to cat-eye frame shapes, and as well  bold colours and glasses that come in both matt and gloss finishes, I want them all. So whatever your personality I think you’ll find a pair to add to your collection that will be the perfect head-turner. Best bit they aren’t expensive, prices start at £89

Have you discovered a great pair of glasses that you love wearing?

Great post. I have to say i switched to contacts about 6 years ago because i was fed up of the limited choice of frames around plus as you say they can leave you feeling self conscious. Now i have to say i love having a couple of days a week in my oversized vintage frames, loving that geek chic is back in fashion so brands have embraced it and are finally giving us fashionable frames. Hadn’t seen this Cosmo collection but will definitely look at next time i am due a renewal. Thank you
