Are you thinking can Disney collaborate with anyone else? Me neither!!! I’m loving the Disney fashion invasion at the moment, we’ve already had Coach x Mickey Mouse, Vans went all Jungle Book on us, and Primark seems to have every Disney character you could possibly want on a T-shirt. Well, the collaboration I’m most excited by has to be Disney x Cath Kidston, there’s something about the cutesy floral prints of the British brand and the playful, fun vibe of classic Disney characters that seems like a perfect match to me.
There are going to be two collections as part of the Disney x Cath Kidston this year, first up will be Winnie-the-Pooh in September to coincide with the loveable bear’s 90th anniversary, and then the second is with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse that will hit stores in time for Christmas.
Granted I’m excited by both, but come on does it get any better than Cath Kidston and Minnie Mouse? Yep, I don’t think so. They had an event in London to celebrate and I got a sneak peek at the two collections – so here’s my favourite pieces.
Disney x Cath Kidston: Winnie-the-Pooh – coming September 26
Winnie-the-Pooh really works well with Cath Kidson’s prints, but if I’m honest out of the two collections this is the more obvious of the two, great for gifts and kids but not very fashiony, if you know what I mean. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still cute, I love the crockery and the baby stuff, I just can’t see myself wearing a Winnie-the-Pooh dress or tote bag.
Disney x Cath Kidston: Minnie and Mickey Mouse – coming December 2016
OK, now this is more my vibe, check out that Minnie and Mickey Mouse red cardigan, so cool, I’m totally lusting over it. I also really want the spotty Minnie jumper and dress, the crazy cool Minnie and floral print dress, all the stationery, the rucksack, and if they released the print as a wallpaper I would probably want that as well!!!
There is something so fun about this collection that I just adore, there’s just so many pieces there really is something for everyone, and I think people are going to go crazy for it. I can tell you I’ll be first in line.
Which Disney x Cath Kidston pieces standout for you?
At the event they also had a Disney illustrator sketching live, seriously this dude was so talented, he drew my custom Minnie Mouse in less than 3 minutes. I’ve sped up the process a little in this video – but seriously mesmerising to watch.
