6 Refreshing Summer Drinks

How do you cool down during a heat wave? I find one of these refreshing summer drinks is needed. For the most part, my go-to option is always fizzy or a good cuppa, however, when it’s warm I always want something fruity, you may have noticed in my recent Instagram and Snapchat posts, and I have some great options that I think you might want to stock up next time you’re at the supermarket.

Vita Coco with Pineapple

Top of my refreshing summer drinks list has to be Vita Coco, coconut water with pineapple, to be fair, all of the Vita Coco waters are recommended, but there is something about the pineapple one that just hits the spot when it is scorching outside. OK, it is a little pricier than most drinks, I think a 1-litre bottle is close to £3 in some shops, but trust me it is so worth it. Billed as ‘like sticking a straw in a coconut’, it’s more than just refreshing, I love how it has that ability to transform me back to a white sandy beach!!!

FYI – love it as much as me? I suggest you bulk buy over at Amazon, plus it is on Prime so you can have it the next day.

I first discovered Snapple in New York, I became obsessed with seeing what fun fact was under the lid, as well as the refreshing blend of juices. I have a few favourites, the Kiwi Strawberry, Raspberry Tea and the Pink Lemonade, all will hit the spot on a hot day. I’ve only just realised you can now buy these natural drinks in Tesco, which makes me very happy.

What a Melon

This is a recent discovery, the guys sent me a few What a Melon bottles to try and I’m hooked, I love watermelon, and I love it even more without the fuss of cutting it up, scooping out the pips and waiting for it to be ripe. It’s kind of like coconut water in the fact it is hydrating, but it is also great for while working out as it has the anti-oxidant lycopene and the muscle-loving amino acid citruline, which apparently means it’s even better for letting you get your sweat on!!!

Belvoir Elderflower Cordial

When it comes to a non-alcoholic drink that makes me think of summer it has to be elderflower cordial and the best out there has to be this one by Belvoir. I think they sell in Tescos and the likes, but I always find in our local farm shop, and I find it is great for mixing up a large batch for a BBQ or picnic as everyone seems to love it. As well as making a great drink, you can also use it in your baking, there’s a lemon and elderflower loaf cake that is divine. Seriously give it a try.

Belvoir Raspberry Lemonade Presse Can

The only fizzy drink on my list is the Belvoir Raspberry Lemonade Presse Can, which is generally the ultimate option to add to any picnic hamper. This beauty of a drink is refreshing as is, but also works great as a mixer, just add to a dash of vodka if you’re feeling naughty! For me, I just find it a great alternative to lemonade, it doesn’t feel as sparkling and it much more refreshing.

Caffe Latte

Not really a fruity person and wondering where the caffeine hit is? Well, my husband totally raves about Caffe Latte’s iced coffees. Find these in the fresh milk aisle, I say that as it took me a while to find in our local supermarket. There are loads of different options, but the two my husband likes the most are the Cappuccino and Vanilla flavours. You just simply shake and drink – for the perfect pick-me-up.
