Have You Discovered Lily Lyn Bags?

If you haven’t already noticed I do like a good bag, I tend to love lots of different styles, shapes and colours, actually more colour the better, I actually don’t have that many black bags, and I do love finding new labels to lust over, especially if they are British, and I have a great one for you today, Lily Lyn. I discovered this Manchester-based designer label at Pure London, chatting with the founder and designer Jayshree Patel was such a pleasure, her passion for her handbags is infectious, and I instantly fell in love with the Lyn bag, named after her mum.

There’s something so luxurious, yet affordable about Lily Lyn, the bag I’m carrying the Lyn in cream, which a few people on social media dubbed the R2D2, as it kind of reminded them of the Star Wars robot, is so beautiful. I’m a little obsessed with the unusual design, the round shape paired with signature stripes certainly makes it a statement, and the gorgeous Saffiano Leather in Cream and dark blue Ostrich print leather paired with floral silk lining add a touch of luxury to the bag, which in case you are wondering is under £200.

Discovering Lily Lyn

I love that it’s big enough for everyday use, but not too big, it has a number of pockets, including an all-important middle pocket with zip for valuables, plus its cross-body design can be switched up to carry for a more sophisticated, lady-like look. To get an idea of how big this bag is, I could fit my new go-to Canon EOS M10 **which I promise to share more about soon**, a notepad – I’m never without one, a change of glasses, make-up essentials, purse, business cards, travel card, and a chocolate snack. Basically, everything you need, and a little room for a few extras.

I actually wore this look to breakfast with my husband, we went to check out the fairly new Old Bicycle Shop in Cambridge, it was yummy by the way **did you see the pancakes I ate on Instagram?**, and we decided to walk through Downing College, one of my favourites in Cambridge. I’m glad we did as at the moment they have some giant tree sculptures by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei on display, they were magnificent to see and I love the backdrop they’ve provided to this shoot. It was only afterwards that I realised the college is also hosting an exhibition in its Heong Gallery of the artist so I definitely have to visit again soon.
