The Ultimate Little Black Dress

The Ultimate Little Black Dress

One thing we can all probably agree on is that a little black dress is a wardrobe essential, so would it shock you to know that I haven’t had one that I truly adored for a while. Well, that was until I spotted this ruffled beauty on La Redoute. Another confession, I probably haven’t stalked the La Redoute website in a number of years, I haven’t really got a good reason, have you stopped by lately, so many cute pieces. I was wowed over by the upcoming collections at their press day over the summer that the La Redoute team kindly allowed me to pick out a few pieces to wear during London Fashion Week.

The first piece I went for was this little black dress, it is perfect for dressing up, just imagine it with a pair of strappy heels and a statement necklace, or wearing down like I have here with trainers. There’s something about the ruffles on the front and the high neckline, as well as the three-quarter sleeves, plus the stretch Milano knit fabric is so comfortable, and certainly helped keep me warm on a chilly third day at London Fashion Week.

The idea for this look was to project Baby Spice vibes, I don’t know why but I’m caught up in a 90s feeling at the moment, and this dress, paired with the triple Keds, which FYI was the closest you’d get me to wearing sky-high platforms like Baby Spice, and the hair done by the girls at Priv at The Apartment just pulled the whole look together. Add in this cute colourful faux leather bomber, which can you believe is less than £40, and this cool round bag, which I loved plain but add the stickered initials and it just makes such a bigger statement. This whole look, minus the Keds, comes in at under £100, crazy right, seriously if you haven’t had a look at La Redoute lately check it out.

I have to give a little mention to this fab trainers, I have a Keds obsession and I think these might be favourites, I love the triple, platform sole, but the best bit has to be the funky floral print. I can’t seem to find these anywhere online, so if you love them, tweet me and I will find out how you can buy them.

What do you think of this Baby Spice look? Have you got a little black dress that is your go-to look?
