Hi I’m Danielle and I’m a denim addict, there I’ve said it. I think I have pair of jeans in every shade of blue imaginable, so to feed my addiction I’ve started adding coloured jeans into my wardrobe to add something a little different, while still feeding my need for the pull-on-and-go denim. Over the year’s I’ve adding the classics like black and grey, as well as khaki and red, and I’ve tried and failed to find the perfect pink pair that don’t look too cheap, and then I discovered these berry coloured jeans in the Gap Outlet at the Ashford Designer Outlet.
For me, when it comes to coloured jeans I tend to opt for darker shades, not only are they more flattering, but I find that they tend to complement the other pieces in my wardrobe better, so make for a great addition to my capsule wardobe. So, when I saw these berry beauties for less than £20 I couldn’t resist as they are so perfect for autumn, while also adding an accent touch to an everyday look.
What I would say about coloured jeans is that they work best when styled with neutral shades, I generally wear my khaki ones with cream, blush or black, and to be honest I feel the same approach would work best with these berry ones, white and black works perfectly. The other styling trick I love is to dress tonally, try adding a darker or lighter berry knit, and then break up with black leather accessories, such as a belt, bag and ankle boots.
When I put these on Instagram a lot of people loved them but at the same time were unsure they’d be able to make them work. But the deep berry colour is what makes them flattering, and don’t worry that they won’t work with anything else as you just need to think of them as an accent colour to your neutrals. For me, coloured jeans just allows me to switch up away from my blue denim. Plus, this berry shade looks amazing with leather, so grab your biker jacket, your favourite cream knit and your best boots and head on out the door!!!
