The Beauty Of Ray-Ban Eyewear

The Beauty Of Ray-Ban Eyewear

I don’t say this often, actually probably never, but I’m in love with these pictures my husband took of me wearing my new Ray-Ban specs that I got from David Clulow. Everything from the light, can’t get any better than the golden hour at Camber Sand beach, to the specs themselves, I’m loving the oversized round shape, as well as the brown colouring, and then there is this confidence that I haven’t seen in myself for a while. In one instance, I don’t recognise myself, in another, I’m so excited to see the real me back, someone who is comfortable being me.

It’s strange how just getting new glasses can make me feel more confident, it is the same as getting a great haircut, or a facial that leaves me glowing, or finding that exercise class that helps me get rid of that stubborn stone. Makes me so happy to see myself like this, and I hope it shows through, imperfections and all.

What makes me giggle when I see these pics, I nearly didn’t get these Ray-Ban glasses, I was worried they weren’t me, they are very different from my other glasses, and I thought I’d found my style, but it just shows that sometimes it is a good thing to go for something new. I’ve been an advocate for online glasses stores for a while, however, they only work if you are content with buying the same style over and over, but I loved that my appointment at David Clulow meant I had a guide to the eyewear ranges, they encouraged me to try on new styles, and helped me picked out these beauties.

Have you discovered Ray-Ban’s range of eyewear?

Top Eye Health Tips

Have regular eye tests – they say every two years – and as it only take 30 minutes and doesn’t hurt, you don’t really have any excuse do you. The only thing I dislike, because it makes me jump is when they do the puff of air to test for glaucoma, but that’s it. One other thing I always recommend is taking a bottle of water as I always find I’m dehydrated with the stress of having to choose which lens looks clearer.

Eat healthy – a well-balanced diet isn’t just good for your body but also your eyes. My optician suggested adding spinach, leeks and red peppers to my diet as they contain lutein and zeaxanthin which apparently can help to protect your eyes against age-related macular degeneration and can help prevent common conditions such as ‘Dry Eye’.

Take regular breaks from your computer – looking at a monitor for a long time can strain your eyes and cause discomfort such as dry eyes, blurred vision, tired eyes, and itchy eyes. So schedule in regular breaks, good trick is to look away from your computer and focus on distant objects to rest your eyes. Also, make sure your screen isn’t too bright, I find that hurts my eyes more.

Protect your eyes in the sun – I’m quite regimental about putting on sunblock, no matter the weather, and its good to know that your eyes need protection from UV radiation, even on cloudy, overcast days – so invest in a great pair of sunglasses.

Stop smoking – I have never smoked, but my optician told me that smokers are three to four times more likely to develop age-related macular degeneration than non-smokers. Just another reason to quit the fags.
