Is A Pink Coat The New Neutral?

Is A Pink Coat The New Neutral?

So when did a pink coat become the new neutral? I’m not sure either but I love it. For me, beige, camel or white isn’t always my style, don’t get me wrong I love my camel coat, but it isn’t generally associated with fun and flirty, and that’s where I think a pink coat adds another layer to any look. The beauty in pink is that it is surprisingly easy to work with, it looks great with primary colours, other shades of pink, black, pastels, bold jewel tones, other neutrals, as well as denim. So basically a great addition to any wardrobe.

The only thing probably holding you back right now from wearing pink, is probably the fact it is pink, are you worried it’s too girlie? My feeling is that pink actually adds a bold statement that can easily be worked into anyone’s style and wardrobe, without having to go too far from your own personal style. You just have to decide how pink you want to go!!!

If you are worried or not sure whether pink is for you – this pink coat I have on here is perfect, more blush than a standard Barbie pink, and it really looks great when worn with grey, denim and black. Also, think about the shape of the pink coat, I love the fact this one is oversized, it means it is perfect layered over knitwear and can be worn as a cape, OK joking a little there, but there is something about a coat that looks great just slouched over your shoulders when you have a fancy outfit on and this one is just the right amount of oversized and has the length for this to work well.

Can I also say, when it comes to this look, if I had a grey coat on the pink tulle skirt would have been too much of a feature, it would have looked a little silly, whereas by nearly matching with the pink coat even the tulle has become a neutral meaning that it makes a great daytime look, or in my case one of my London Fashion Week outfits. I’m always looking to work tulle into my everyday looks and I think this outfit just shows that it can be done. I also love how the over-the-knee boots have cancelled out the sheer portion of the tulle skirt as well. This was my first grey-and-pink look and I’m totally loving it.

Are you won over by this pink coat?

The light pink coat ideally matches your grey slouchy sweater and tulle skirt completed with grey OTK boots and stylish purse. I like the way you drape coat over shoulders!
