I can’t believe that it’s coming up to a year of being in our ‘forever house’, it was a long time coming, and to be honest I wasn’t sure if we would snag the house of our dreams, so it seemed right to have a little summer celebration on the beach, one of the main reasons we wanted to move to this area, and we had to make the occasion without a glass or two of Thatchers Family Reserve, sparkling apple wine.
We first discovered Thatchers “champagne cider” before our wedding, as we were looking for a great alternative to sparkling wine and champagne, and my husband and I both fell for its delicious and refreshing, gentle fizz, so it seemed so fitting to pop open a bottle for our romantic celebratory picnic in the sand dunes.
It really has been a crazy year, having a Grade II listed home does bring along a few challenges, and the progress hasn’t exactly been as speedy as I would like, we do have a new kitchen, a few decorated rooms, and a spruced up garden. But, mostly, a year down the line we most have lots of plans in place for the other projects that we need to get done over the summer. But one of the best things about our move has to be how much better we are at taking time for us, we have really embraced the countryside air and we love being only 10 minutes to the beach.
For me, I love celebrating every milestone, it makes everything so much fun if you celebrate it, so it was really nice for my husband and I to just take a picnic basket filled with our favourite cheeses, hams and fruit, as well as our Somerset sparking apple wine, and just relax for a few hours listening to the wind around us. It was so romantic and perfectly, and the best way to spend our first real weekend together in a while as we’ve both been so busy lately.
Trying Thatchers Family Reserve Somerset apple sparkling wine for the first time, do so with a oodles of strawberries, as it really works perfectly with the refreshing apple bubbles. Also, don’t forget to keep your cork, add a little slit and insert a 20p, and display proudly around your home for good luck. I love doing this as it really reminds me of all those special moments, I have ones from our wedding, our honeymoon, and when we moved into our forever house.
