Content Shake-Up For It’s A Danielle Life

It's A Danielle Life, Content Planner, Blog Content,

One thing I love about having my own little space on the internet with It’s A Danielle Life is the ability to shake things up when I want to. There have been many versions of my little corner in the past decade, from Fashionista Barbie dedicated to fashion to adding more lifestyle, to rebranding to the current feel. Now feels like the right time to add more content areas I love, such as journalling, gardening, and sharing a more mindful lifestyle.

I think what it comes down to is, I want my blog to showcase more of my slow, cosy countryside lifestyle. From slow fashion to interiors, my new love of gardening, my passion for journalling and writing in general, as well as mini-adventures with Falcon, championing local so expect more about Kent, self-care tips, and entertainment round-ups, because I do love to binge watch TV shows and curate movie marathons.

Lockdown life has been challenging, but it has also been enlightening. It taught me more about what I love, what I want to focus on, and importantly, how I want to share my passions on here. I want to continue to grow, and this new focus on content is part of that process for me.

Enhancing the content on It’s A Danielle Life

I also want my platform to entertain, to inspire, but also to be a force for good. The aim is to shine a light on amazing people, designers, brands, artists, and writers, with interviews and stories. That could be introducing you to a slow fashion brand, an author, a jewellery designer, a charity, or even a great new service. Basically, I’m going to search out fantastic brands and people that I know you will love just as much as me.

No matter what happens, It’s A Danielle Life is first and foremost about my life, and I want it to reflect my life experiences more as we move into 2021, as well as help inspire my lovely community. I want to share the things that bring me joy, and hopefully in return, you too. Expect content that combines my love of fashion, gardening, animals, my countryside home, writing, binge-watching TV, reading, listening to podcasts, and eating delicious food.

Over the years I have been asked what is my niche, you know what, my niche is being me. I want my slice of the internet to reflect that and I hope it resonates with you as well.

This is slow mindful living my way, with a touch of everyday magic, wrapped up in a cosy jumper, with a side helping of chocolate brownies and a glorious bunch of flowers.

Moving forward – new schedule and categories

Over the last 12 months, I have generally posted once a week, on a Tuesday and it has worked out quite well. Well, I’m thinking of adding a regular Thursday or Sunday blog post into the mix. The day would depend on the content. I think entertainment-style posts would work best on Thursdays, as a great blog read to head into the weekend. Whereas interviews and garden musings would work better on Sunday. At the moment things are a work in progress, and I will see how things develop over the next few weeks.

One thing I’m trying to do this year is have more fun, less pressure. If I only manage one blog a week then I’m not going to be too hard on myself.

So, what new content can you expect?

Gardening – My garden has become a huge part of my life and I have lots of plans for 2021. I have a greenhouse being installed in February and a kitchen garden with cut flower raised beds in the works. Plus, I have a beautiful cottage garden out the front and big dreams for the rest of the back. The plan is to share how to get started growing your own, whether that’s flowers from seeds, tomatoes, vegetables or fruit. I also want to share garden design inspiration, this is something I’ve been looking at a lot recently and I would love to share what I have found to help you all achieve your dream garden while documenting my own journey.

Journalling – I’ve been journalling in one form or another for years, but for some reason, I’m not quite sure why I’ve never shared on here. Well, that’s about to change. I have numerous posts planned, from how to get started with a bullet journal, to the journalling and writing prompts that help me. As well as discovering the art of gratitude, nature journalling and the tools of the trade, the notebooks and pens I love using.

Watch. Listen. Read – This is a new section that has developed from my bullet journal. I thought it would be fun to share my must-watch TV shows, themed movie marathons, and my current go-to podcasts or books. I’m constantly searching the internet for inspiration and I thought I would pass it forward with my own suggestions.

Profiles – This will be a space to share amazing interviews and stories, rather than just products. I want this to have a magazine feel to it, as I want it to be inspiring, entertaining, informative, and hopefully, encourage a different way of thinking.

Home – I have shared a little about our forever house, but I have had so many questions, such as what’s it like to live in a listed building, that I think I need to make more of an effort to share not just inspiring interior content, but also practical advice, and our renovation plans.

This will all be on top of my current content – fashion, lifestyle, travel, dog-friendly, beauty and baking recipes. I’m not getting rid of anything, my archive will stay up there, but don’t expect much celebrity content moving forward, it just isn’t something that appeals any more.

Overall, I’m just super excited about putting together some fantastic content you will all love. I really am a great believer in sharing things that give me joy and that is what these changes will mean. It is always nervous stepping away from things I’ve always done for new loves, but I hope you will be as excited as I am.
