This show may have been running late because of a Girls Aloud singer and X-Factor star holding up an earlier show, but that seriously didn’t make it any less special. I loved it from the sound of thunder signally the start, to the raindrops as the lights went back down, and the amazing reworking of contemporary songs with an orchestra vibe in-between.
Everything was so thought out for this gorgeous autumn/winter 2011 collection inspired by the novel ‘Soie’ by Alessandro Baricco, a romantic tale of a European man who becomes enchanted by the east. The pieces certainly were enchanting.
One of my favourite gowns had to be the ‘Firefly’ dress above, a gorgeous red floor-skimming gown with embellished slates to the top, which when it shimmered passed me made me think of the rain.
The collection was beautiful, with its strong streamlined tailoring and soft draping with demure skirt lengths, and then on the other hand it was sexy with its daring slits, cut-out panels and open backs.
But best of all I loved all the oriental silhouettes and colour palette, with its striking red, navy and green shades, in softly draped silk jersey, mixed in with the contrasting shades of soft rose pinks and vintage cream tones, particularly loved the red and the gold together.
Completely different from last season which was full of pastel shades. It was also a different approach with the hair, for spring/summer it was all about the candy-coloured buns, and for winter it is all about the vintage-inspired up-do with the hair swept to the side, teamed with fierce red lippy.
Each dress that came down the runway was another favourite, with the silks mixed in with lace overlays, knitted maxi’s, hand-embellished beauties, and to-die for macramé belts *very 70’s but I love them* which complimented the chic dresses really well, especially loved the red-on-red look.

But I have to admit I was completely in love with all the iconic Fornasetti-inspired prints, from this one-shoulder, side draped silk gown with black and white prints above; to this long-sleeve red mini below, with the iconic key-hole prints.

I also have to have this gorgeous navy maxi-dress, which was tied at the waist with a belt hung with oversized keys * I know amazing*, I love keys, but these are amazing they clinked together as she walked. Totally want!!!
I am not sure why Jasper doesn’t get more recognition, or why we don’t see his creations on the red carpet, as I saw this gorgeous collection up-close-and-personal on the front row *I know very lucky*, and they definitely need some flash bulb attention!
