I didn’t get as much time to check out the Fashion Scout shows as I would have liked this season, but one designer I never like to miss is Singapore-born, London-based Eugene Lin, as he is definitely a talent for the future, as his attention to detail in his tailoring is incredible.
Inspired by classic Greek mythology, in-particular the story of Cupid’s arrow making Helen of Troy fall in love with Paris, the collection heavily featured gold bullet-like rivets on the body-con dresses and a modern-take on the trench coats.
It was Eugene’s take on the trench coat that really caught my attention, as the basis of the trench was used throughout – in a sexy corset, a split skirt, a gorgeous cape, as well as a sleeveless version – but my favourite had to be the black trench with gold embellishments – it was tailored to perfection.
As well as loving the tailored aspects of the collection, I loved the soundtrack to the show which featured Audio Bully’s reworking of Nancy Sinatra and ‘Bang Bang’ – oh and I can’t not mention the hair – the plaited Mohawk were incredible.
