One of my favourite LFW shows had to be Orla Kiely’s Mad Men-style presentation, complete with typing pool, gorgeous sixties silhouettes and retro tunes.
It wasn’t just the clothing that had stepped back in time, the gorgeous Elms Lester Gallery had been transformed for the creative presentation with retro typewriters, circle dial telephones, and even a ‘Typing Pool, Quiet Please’ sign. Every detail was considered right down to the post – so chic!!!
It is presentations like this that makes fashion week so much more than just about seeing the latest collections, this was an up-close, fun look at the super stylish autumn/winter looks of a brand that is known for its retro feel. I loved the way the models interacted with one another, they played the part well, and it was nice to see the inspiration behind a collection rather than read it on show notes.
There were lots of items I loved, especially the use of Barbie pink, I have to get that long-sleeved bright pink wool dress – it is so pretty, I also loved all the coats, the squirrel adorned cardigans and the luxurious daisy velvet Jacquard coat – seriously this was one stylish office!!!
