The London-based Turkish designer Bora Aksu always adds a sparkle to the London Fashion Week schedule on Day 1. This season the designer took us back to the Twenties after being inspired by the beautiful, independent and morally ambiguous Vaudeville act The Dolly Sisters to create a beautiful but dark collection.
Featuring his trademark floaty dresses and corset detailing, the collection stuck to mainly neutral colour palette with greys, beiges and tan shades that was injected with a pop of vibrant berry shades towards the end, which looked spectacular when the Bora Army did their finale.
I loved all the Twenties inspiration with the high necklines, dropped waists, scallop edges, and gorgeous embellished beading – it was also nice to see the designer introduce leather into his collections for the first time.
