…back-to-back shows, feeling a little bit like a pin-ball machine across London, seeing some amazing shows and meeting friends along the way.
This is my second proper season at London Fashion Week as Fashionista Barbie, and this season I even went one step further and got myself accredited, yes I have a press badge to make Barbie proud!!
Well my day was jam packed, with 10 shows in totally, and two presentations to get too. Sadly however this was a little ambitious, first up I didn’t really schedule in any eating time, didn’t take into account the waiting an extra 30-minutes for a show for Diana Vickers to arrive, or even the extent of the commute between each venue, as for some reason I didn’t seem to be in the same venue straight. But hey I can’t complain it was the best day I have ever had a fashion week!!
Here is my schedule:
10am – Maria Grachvogel, at the amazing Savoy – I was so lucky I was sat with a perfect view behind the incredible Hilary Alexander
11am – Jena.Theo, kicked off the new show space for On|Off at Mercer Street Studios, I cut it close *through getting a little lost* but well worth it
12pm – Prophetik, eco-chic at its very best and always the best way to open Vauxhall Fashion Scout for another season, always fuses fashion and theatre, and once again didn’t disappoint
1.15pm – Corrie Nielsen, my first show of the season in the BFC’s main tent at Somerset House
2.30pm – Jean-Pierre Braganza, in the amazing Northumberland Hotel – gorgeous space and long catwalk
3.30pm – Falguni and Shane Peacock, delivered all the glitz and glam for the day
4.15pm – Eudon Choi, back at Vauxhall Fashion Scout
7.30pm – Jasper Garvida, always such an elegant and glamorous show, once again it was a bloggers paradise on the front row
8.30pm – PPQ, my first celeb-tastic front row, this show certainly attracted all the cool kids, oh and then Kimberley Walsh!
By 9pm I was completely done, I was a little sad I couldn’t continue onto the many parties as William Tempest was showing his new film, Vivienne Westwood jewellery had attracted Olivia Palermo *jealous when I heard that I hadn’t gone*, Vauxhall Fashion Scout celebrated its tenth season, and PPQ had their after-show party.
I sadly missed one show *hence my gap between Eudon and Jasper* due to needing food – Krystof Strozyna, which attracted a celeb crowd of Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh and Diana Vickers – but hey I saw them both at other shows and food was way more important!!
Of course it is the fashion which attracts me to fashion week, but on the first day of the autumn/winter 2011 it was the people I met which totally made the day. I seemed to be at lots of shows with fellow tweeters and bloggers @sarah_scribble, @carina100, @BBlenkinsopp, @katieantoniou, and @Abimarvel – it is always so good to put a face to a name.
I am putting together my show reports for all of the above, however I seem to be a bit snap happy and took over 500 pictures so it is going to take me a while to go through all the pictures.
