LFW SS12: Maria Grachvogel – A Draping Masterclass

One thing that you can be certain about when it comes to Maria Grachvogel that the collection will be exquisite, full of her signature drapes, feminine silhouettes and will work in her exclusive artwork prints. For some I am sure that this seems a little bit of the same, yes the draped dresses and wide leg trousers are very similar to what we saw for autumn/winter 2011, yes nude still plays as huge part, and once again her jewellery collaboration with Erickson Beamon featured heavily. But I think you have to see Maria Grachvogel for what it is, this isn’t a label that is going to shock, this is a label consistently presents beautiful and luxurious pieces.

This season I loved the flashes of lime green as well as the addition to the city shorts, and I was fascinated by one model in particular who I couldn’t figure out whether she was a girl or a boy in this coral razer-back maxi dress.

I also give Maria the award for one of the best venues, I do adore the Savoy ballroom the chandeliers are amazing.

Also cool to see the lovely Abi Marvel in the photography press pit.
