I love finding editorial spreads that have a doll-like quality about them, and these snaps of Victoria Beckham for French magazine Madame Figaro are some of my favourites of her. The top image is just divine, not only is Victoria wearing the most exquisite Prada body with embroidered lace flowers on it, but her pose is very Barbie-lious – the arms, the perfect arch of her back, and that tiny waist – she really makes a great doll.
I also think the setting of the shoot helps as it looks like she is in a giant dolls house, as well as her great figure and the gorgeous clothes – with her own designs mixed in with Hakaan, Lanvin, and Alexander Wang, this is one of the best editorial spreads I have seen her in for a while. I continue to be blown away by Victoria Beckham – I loved her autumn/winter 2012 collection, her recent i-D cover was sublime, and I am loving seeing all her designs hitting the red carpet.
If you have time pop on over to Madame Figaro’s website as the interview is quite revealing, Victoria talks about her family, how she came about setting up her fashion label, that she is obsessed with Clemence Posey, and how she would love to see the world through the eyes of Miuccia Prada – apparently ‘her vision of fashion is ultra-intelligent’ – I totally agree.
