One of my happy places, yes I have a happy place, has to be the Wimpole Estate near where I live, it is a gorgeous National Trust property in Cambridgeshire that has an impressive mansion, stunning gardens and grounds, and is home to some of the most adorable cows ever!!!
For me this is a place to relax, reflect, and generally get away. There is so much to do – I regularly come to read a book under a tree, enjoy a picnic, visit the farm, or just admire the stunning floral displays in the gardens, and when I am filling extra energetic I take in one of their many walks – this place is as beautiful in summer as it is when covered in snow.
I always seem to find something new to capture with my camera, whether a pretty flower, a cute cow, the incredible scenery, or the estates ginger cat. If only the place had free WiFi across the grounds as I think I would become a permanent resident throughout the summer.
Last weekend, when the weather was a little cooler, I decided to pop by to visit the gardens and take some summer snaps – basically I wanted to pose in front of a big mansion, see a few cows and get some flower inspiration for my own garden.
The greyish skies suggest that it wasn’t that warm but it was such a muggy day that I wore my loose Jaeger Boutique dress that I bought in the sale last year, which is perfect for dressing up with heels or like here with simple flats that I picked up in Primark. As I can’t seem to go anywhere, not even for a walk, without jewellery I paired my look with my new MyFlashTrash bracelets that I was gifted by River Island and my statement rose necklace from Angelica London.
It was such a fun afternoon and I hope it comes across in these piccies as for the first time in a while I actually didn’t hate what I saw – here’s hoping that my confidence is on its way back up!!!
