So it seems I’m not the only one happy about the fact that leg-lengthening flare denim is having a bit of a style resurgence, after my last style post declaring my love for the beauties that flare out from the knee I have been bombarded with requests on my top picks on the high street.

So you asked and I have delivered – three price brackets to suit everything budget – under £75, between £75 and £150, and over £150 – there is something for everyone, plus a few little tips on how to look your best in flares.

Luxury – over £150

Fashionista Barbie recommends: The MiH Jeans’ signature ‘Marrakesh’ flared jeans, £195 has been at the top of my wish list forever, they have a flattering fit and in black they will go with everything.

Tips on wearing Flares:

  • I would generally recommend wearing with a heel, a wedged heel works really well as does a retro wooden platform style, but don’t be afraid to work flats if the length of your flares doesn’t allow for heels
  • Darker denim generally works better, more flattering, but I do love a lighter wash for the summer
  • Go for a pair that is slim fitted around the waist, hips and thighs, makes the flare splaying out from the knee that extra bit dramatic, plus it balances out the style
  • If you can go for a high-waisted pair of flares, uber flattering and hides a multitude of sins as it highlights your slimmest part
