I have a two new obsessions, matcha tea and making my own ice lollies **for the America’s out there popsicles**, so when Eat Clean Tea launched their summer of matcha campaign I thought why not combine them both together and make up a refreshing, healthy ice lolly to enjoy along with this lovely weather we’ve been having. If you aren’t sure what Matcha is? Well, basically it’s green tea leaves ground into a fine powder that is a source of antioxidants with Eat Clean Tea’s matcha having 137 times the amount than in normal green tea. I’m not a fan of normal green tea, but I love that Matcha generally has a sweeter taste, plus what’s not to love about the fact that one single serving of Matcha is the equivalent of 10 cups of regular green tea, and that it boosts metabolism, improves skin, and gives long-lasting energy naturally.

So now I’ve given you the low-down on Matcha, back to these delicious and refreshing ice lollies. There are loads of options, either go for all green, I love just pure matcha tea ice lollies they look amazing as well as tasting great, or add some plain yoghurt if you prefer a creamier lolly, or why not opt for something a little sweeter by adding fruit like these ones, which happen to my go-to lolly at the moment, they are like having a frozen healthy smoothie.

Basically, I’ve started turning my favourite fruity Nutriblast smoothies into lollies, with a few added scoops of Matcha Tea for added benefits. Plus, what’s great about this recipe is that it’s easily adapted to what you like, takes less than 5 minutes to make, the only real annoyance is you might have to wait overnight to try, but trust me it is so worth having these in the freezer on a hot day.

Coconut milk with pineapple, another addiction of mine

Frozen summer berries, I love blackberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, and redcurrants

Banana

Squeezy honey, for added sweetness

1-2 teaspoons of Matcha

So, I haven’t put precise measurements down as this all depends on how big your ice lolly tray is and how many you want to make, basically, I would just suggest doing a blender/Nutribullet full, any left overs you can just drink like a smoothie.

For me, I filled half up with the coconut water with pineapple, a large handful of the frozen berries, two small bananas, one large one probably would have done the trick as well, a tablespoon of honey, and 2 scoops of the Eat Clean Tea, using the little scoop that comes with the tea. I then blasted it in my Nutriblast until it was smooth and then pour into my ice lolly tray and left it over night to freeze through. This was more than enough to make six ice lollies.
