Hand’s up who is so ready for more boxsets to get through the rest of this lockdown? Well, Disney+ have come to the rescue once again with their new general entertainment brand, Star which launched this week with more than 75 TV series, over 270 movies and 4 original shows. Trust me, it is packed full of fan-favourites like Grey’s Anatomy, 24, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and The X-Files.
Boxsets on Star I’ve added to my watchlist

Alias (Season 1-5)
I love Alias so much, Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow is my hero – I basically want to be a spy, have a collection of wigs, and learn how to fight every time I watch this show. I also might have a slight crush on Michael Vaughn, played by Michael Vartan – because really a man who can speak fluent French wins every time. It is action-packed, full of drama, you will get so attached to the characters, and you can swoon over a very young-looking Bradley Cooper. Plus with five seasons, and over 100 episodes it will keep you going for a while.
Bones (Season 1-12)
This is one of the shows I actually binge-watched at the start of Lockdown 1.0. It was great to relive this crime drama, which I forgot how funny it also was, and of course, it stars David Boreanaz as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, who I adore as I’m a full-on Angel fan-girl!!! A staggering 246 episodes might seem like a commitment, but the characters really shine through and you will get sucked in, the will-they-won’t-they romance between Booth and forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan will have you there until the end.
Sleepy Hollow (Season 1-4)
Like crime shows, the supernatural and history? Well, Sleepy Hollow combines all three – with Ichabod Crane the main character being resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers. Ichabod then teams up with an FBI agent and solves crimes, and even does a cross-over in Bones.

Burn Notice (Season 1-7)
A show you might not of heard of, which is so going to change as Burn Notice is a great spy, action drama with Jeffrey Donovan, which basically revolves around his character Michael Weston who finds himself burned and unable to leave his hometown of Miami. Chaos ensues as he starts working as a private investigator with his old friend Sam Axe and ex-girlfriend Fiona, and the occasional assistance from his hilarious mother. For me this show is just pure fun.
Ugly Betty (Season 1-4)
I can’t believe there are only 4 seasons of Ugly Betty, I really loved this show, which revolves around the character Betty Suarez, played by America Ferrera, who even though lacking in style lands a job at a fashion magazine. It is funny and heartwarming, part soap opera and part fashion industry satire with romance, feuds, friendship, and self-discovery.
24 (Season 1-9)
Basically, Kiefer Sutherland as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer can do no wrong!!! 24 really was a game-changer of a show for its time, as each week’s episode unfolding in real-time, as ’24’ covers a single day in the life of Bauer each season. Jack has to fight the bad guys and stop an assassination, a nuclear bomb threat, infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel, find kidnapped officials, stop terrorist attacks, live through torture, thwart a military coup, find a dirty bomb, and survive.

Revenge (Season 1-4)
Looking for something silly, glamorous and a great backdrop of the Hamptons to see you through lockdown? Revenge is for you. This is a show that follows Emily Thorne, played by Emily VanCamp, who is also really Amanda Clarke, who moves to a house on the beach in the Hamptons to avenge her father who was jailed for a crime he did not commit and bring the real perpetrators to justice, all while having an amazing designer wardrobe and knowing how to throw a great party. Cue lots of scheming and romances.
Brothers & Sisters (Season 1-5)
This drama series centres around the Walker family and their lives in Los Angeles and Pasadena, California. It has an all-star cast led by Sally Field as Nora Walker, with Rachel Griffiths as Sarah, Calista Flockhart as Kitty, Balthazar Getty as Tommy, Matthew Rhys as Kevin, Dave Annable as Justin Walker, and even Rob Lowe. The show’s narrative launches with the death of William Walker, father/husband at Kitty’s birthday party, and follows the family dealing with his death, and the secrets that come out including a half-brother and a failing business.
Star Originals to add to the mix – Helstrom and Big Sky

Big Sky
A crime thriller where private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken. It is from storyteller David E. Kelly from ‘Big Little Lies’ and stars Ryan Phillipe so I’m excited to watch this show.
Helstrom
Based on the Marvel Comics characters Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the children of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The show follows the siblings who hunt down the worst of humanity.
More boxsets I love on Star – Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Castle, Firefly, Devious Maids, Grey’s Anatomy, Cougar Town, Scandal and The X-Files.
